How we work
Neutrality and selection criteria
How Mandate SA stays neutral, and the things it will not do.
Neutral by procedure
Every party and person goes through the same templates, rules, thresholds and ordering. Official data is included because an official body published it, not because of who it is about. Where we select, for example which claims to check, the criteria are written down and the same for everyone.
What Mandate SA will not do
- recommend who to vote for, run party-matching quizzes or endorse anyone;
- carry party content, paid placement, advertising or sponsored profiles;
- publish composite scores, rankings or league tables of parties or politicians;
- publish unproven allegations, or submissions as received;
- predict election results or aggregate polls.
Choosing claims to check
Claims are chosen for public interest, verifiability against public sources, and reach. The same criteria apply to every party. A claim is never checked because of who made it, and never left unchecked to favour anyone.
