Support Mandate SA

Mandate SA is an independent, politically neutral record of public power in South Africa. If you would like to help keep it free to read and free to use, you can give. It is entirely your choice.

Draft

This page is being finalised. Its wording is under review, so donations are not open yet.

Why independence matters

Mandate SA collects official data, checks it, and publishes it with its source. That only works if nobody can buy a different answer.

No funder, account holder or subscriber buys a different finding, faster treatment, or a change to the record. Editorial decisions are made on evidence and recorded with their reasons.

Donations help pay for the work of collecting, checking and publishing the record. They are not earmarked for any party, person or finding.

Giving is voluntary

You never have to give to read, search, report a problem or take part. Giving does not change what you see, how your reports are treated, or your place in anything. It is a gift, not a purchase.

Donations are not tax-deductible

Mandate SA (Pty) Ltd is a private company. It is not a public benefit organisation, so it cannot issue a section 18A tax certificate. A donation is not tax-deductible. Please do not give expecting a tax benefit.

Who we do not accept donations from

Mandate SA does not accept donations from political parties, from candidates, or from anyone giving on their behalf (their agents, officials or campaign vehicles). If you work for a party or a campaign, please do not give.

A donation that turns out to come from one of these will be declined or returned.

How to give

For now we accept donations by electronic funds transfer (EFT) only. We do not process card payments and we never ask for card details.

  1. Ask for your reference below. It looks like DON-ABCD2345 and is unique to you.
  2. Pay any amount you choose into the account shown, and put the reference in the payment reference box of your bank's app, so the payment can be recognised.
  3. That is all. We keep only the reference: no name, amount, address or contact details.

Banking details coming soon.
